“So we can limit the impact of cats on wildlife”

Truly Liberalism is a mental disorder.

My thoughts exactly!

That’s nice, except that the video didn’t tell us ANYTHING about where cats go.

Sheesh!

Now and then when we get a larger box like a new printer, I will cut "hatches" in it and ports to make a fort. One cat will "defend" from inside while the other attacks.

Great fun.

Our indoor cats only have an 1800sq ft house to roam in, though my wife is foster caring three kittens in the guest bathroom so it is off limits.

Lol...I think it was just a teaser. I’ll try to find something later with more meat on it. The video did say they go to other houses, and one kitty traveled a fairly good distance to go back to his old home.

>>>Exactly my thoughts. Cats ARE animals, whatever impact they have is natural.

Except they would probably be considered an exotic...since they aren't native to your neighborhood...especially in the numbers that we have them.

I have three cats. Two stay home...one loves to roam and bring back presents. She can be found sitting on the crown of our roof. It really freaks people out sometimes...lol

Nice, I’ll have to try the cat fort. Been there, done that on the kitten raising. We’ve raised all of ours from the barn cats. The barn mommas aren’t good mothers and we find them about half dead in the hay stacks, scoop them up and bring them in the house. We haven’t lost any yet. It took several years to get the barn females trapped up and spayed because of all of the drop offs and strays that would wander in.

The numbers of ferals in the US is huge...estimated to be 50 million or more. And that’s just ferals.

Sewer Kitty (aka SK) is an inside cat. That being said, the little brat “prowls” at night “finding” things and thus... stealing them. She likes to either “hide” her stolen property under her bed (previously my daughters bed) OR puts them in plain view for shock value. The last several months: a tampon on the kitchen table (not used... thank goodness), a pair of MY panties on the steps, hair bands throughout the house and my ROSARY in the kitchen sink. (yes... heathen cat)).

Lol. Little devil.

Did you ever see that video on Animal Planet about the klepto-cat?

I’ll have to find it after I get to my next destination.

.... He would be a wreck if he was not allowed to go out.
The outside cat always walks with us down the street the last (after dark) walk of the day. People always comment about the cat following us.......

My cat lived a good part of his life on the streets until he made it here for rescue one stormy winters night.....took him in and he wouldn’t go out for over a year....he finally had a home.

But when he decide to wander again I let him....it didn’t seem right to confine him when he was ready to go out again. He hangs out mostly on the deck and wanders his night walk.....he too will walk down the street with e and follow...I laughed so hard the first time he did that...it was so funny...I couldn’t believe it so I walked across the street and he stayed right with me!

I decided when I adopted a stray kitten to make it an indoor only cat.

My Squeek was strictly an indoor cat but would venture out onto the deck as far as the bottom step....

From there she would occasionally see and catch a vole then bring it back into the house and release it......LOL!

She recently had to be put down and I miss her.........

I have surveillance cameras around my house and I see cats roaming around quite often at night. Some of them I know and they go a few streets away from their house. By the way I do not have cats.
