“Don’t pass legislation” was a bad line. We’re better off without it.

I saw McGuire at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas in the early 80’s.

Very good show, very kind man.

The song certainly fits the whole world now, after arming Iran and sending $$ to North Korea via Iran.

That song was in 1966. It was followed by someone else singing The Eve of Correction.

It’s sad when you step back and look at it all. Guess it’s just the reality of existence. A fight for religion, a fight for ideology or a fight for resources. Maybe any combination of the them. This is the way it has been for thousands of years.

One would think that with all the resources God has put at our disposal that the world should be a paradise.

‘This is the way it has been for thousands of years.”

And will continue to be this way until mankind disappears.

McQuire introduced a group of four singers to Lou Adler, his producer, who signed them. The group became “The Mamas & Papas”.

Before recording their first album, the M&Ps sang backup for McQuire to earn a few bucks.

Here’s a video of McQuire singing “Do You Believe In Magic” with Michelle, Cass, Denny & John singing background.

Maguire also introduced the gospel group “The 2nd Chapter of Acts” I believe. Or was an early supporter of them

Free Will + Selfishness = not paradise

In terms of survival, selfishness is the foundation of existence. Much like excess is the foundation of charity.

Then why did you post that you were puzzled that we do not have paradise here on earth?

Barry became a born-again Christian. I think he was the demo artist for Eve of Destruction and it got released. I could be misremembering.

Yes, he worked with many early Christian “Jesus music” singers such as 2nd Chapter of Acts, before any record labels knew what they were.

I use http://www.one-way.org/jesusmusic/index.html

to keep up with some of my favorites from my youth.
