That is really sad.
Time to create new breeds mixing these puggish dogs to another snouted breed, and only making half breeds for the better genetics. If I got a dog it would be a combo dog. We love the cavachons.

When I was growing up we had St. Bernards. By the second one we had the trick down for the slobber. Whenever he wanted to bark, or greet anyone, even us, he was taught to go pick up a little hand towel. So whenever he was excited over anything he heard or saw or was going to meet, he went to put that towel in his mouth, and ran around with it. So his long drools went into the towel and not on people’s pants. Added benefit: when he wanted to bark like crazy at a delivery or something, it was a nice muffled bark.

Okay, that is really cute. I think that is about how big Luther was. At least he seemed like a moose when he’d try to worm his way onto my lap.
Yes, I agree little kids are genetically prone to sucking.

He’s pretty much ruined my hips.
He lays his ginormous head across them and presses down so I won’t ‘get away’ if he falls asleep.
Be pretty hard to abduct me while I’m sleeping, I reckon.

Shorly after I arrived for duty in Bangkok our house was broken into. Decided we needed a watchdog. Got a native Thai dog from a friend whose tour of duty was up. A mutt, but a great dog. Good watchdog, good with the kids, very loyal and friendly. Left her with our landlady when we came home. She was well cared for and lived out a normal life. Wish we'd been able to bring her back with us.
