The video at the link truly needs to be seen to be appreciated.

"I'm a little disappointed in High Point University for allowing him to be here because I think of this environment as one that promotes diversity of one that includes all types of ideas," said senior Elizabeth Reichart.

She may be the poster girl for "Special Snowflake".

High Point University Senior Elizabeth Reichert, Special Irrational Snowflake Extraordinaire, thinks that "diversity" requires that HPU deny a podium to Donald J. Trump in order to "include all types of ideas" that she may agree with.

The logic is not strong in this one.

Eliminate "brick and mortar" universities that foster this leftist herd mentality. A university is properly a center for the search for truth, not a job credentialing racket (if that) which can be used by radicals to homogenize the politics of the students.

All too many of these sorry excuses for edumakashunal institutions are really no more than a platform for a four year orgy of sex and drugs at ridiculous prices subsidized by Pell grants, and federal loan programs to keep the cash flowing, pay tenured college teachers obscene amounbts and turn alumni/ae into indentured servants without any allowance for bankrupting $150,000-$200,000 in student loans for undergraduate edumakashun alone. All this for leftist indoctrination. No thanks!

As long as there are "free public libraries" (thank you, Andrew Carnegie!) as much education as anyone desires at no tuition cost whatsoever is no further away than the library.

Want a conservative education for your kids or even an even-handed and quality education? Encourage conservative or neutral scholars to recommend a curriculum, text books, supplemental readings and, perhaps, if necessary, a paid tutoring program for specially difficult subjects.

Encourage the idea that college level education should equip the mind of the student to deal with academic and intellectual challenges. It is NOT job training or even job credentialing. It is not for shoring up political prejudices or "community organizing." It is not for sex, drugs and rock 'n roll. It is not intended to be a swell paying job program for otherwise incompetent leftists.

If a college or university wishes to exclude a Republican POTUS candidate, that school has a property right to do so. OTOH, as an institution of higher learning engaged in the search for truth, the school has no moral right to do so. A school that excludes Republican candidates should not want to dirty its skirts by accepting tax money paid by Republicans. Cut off all federal aid to each such college to preserve its pristine morality. It is the least we can do.

You'd have to be a special kind of stupid to say something like that.

Somehow, she wants diversity (except for Trump's ideas).

So much for teaching critical thinking in our universities. It would be fun to see Thomas Sowell rip this apart.

"....but not if that person expresses a point of view different from my own."

That idiot should go have some cocoa with Pajama Boy in his mom’s basement and wait out the terror of Trump.

Except for ideas of which Ms. Reichart disapproves, apparently.
