NEW YORK (AP) — NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell disagrees with Colin Kaepernick’s choice to kneel during the national anthem, but recognizes the quarterback’s right to protest.
Asked by The Associated Press about Kaepernick’s decision not to stand before games when the national anthem is played, Goodell said in an email Wednesday: “I don’t necessarily agree with what he is doing.”
“I support our players when they want to see change in society, and we don’t live in a perfect society,” Goodell added. “On the other hand, we believe very strongly in patriotism in the NFL. I personally believe very strongly in that.”

The only question is if ratings go up or down because of the controversy and extra media exposure the NFL is getting over this.

For anyone who didn't know, the original Black Panthers were a communist-revolutionary domestic terrorist group like Bill Ayers' Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army. All were Maoist to be precise.

I was taught at an early age to stand whenever any country’s anthem is played or broadcast.
Goodell, who is just as stupid as his father, Charles, also believes in the Tooth Fairy, Lepreuchans, Santa Claus, Dracula, and Chupalapras.

Goodell is insane. It’s an issue of an employer not setting an appropriate standard when the players are representing their team.

How do you like that? Goodell could have just kept his mouth shut and let it be known through back channels that the prick had better stand up.
The NFL likes all that DOD money for the patriotic shows they do.
He could fine him. They are private employees working for the company. They fine players for less then this.
And what would the players do? Boycott games? Is that a bad thing? ;-)
But he still won’t allow the Dallas Cowboys the wearing of a small sticker to honor the five Dallas cops that were killed a couple of months ago.
