.....Not having a removable battery is a deal-breaker to me.

Exactly why I don't have an iPhone.
I'm not a heavy user , but would like to have a high end phone. One I could have for numerous years.

Obviously the battery would be expendable and need replacement in a couple years.

Not so obvious. The original iPhone I bought more than nine years ago was still going strong as a hand-me-down phone among various family members up until we retired it as a phone a year ago last March, when we gave it to my three year old granddaughter to be used as an iPod touch, where it is STILL being used. That original iPhone is still on its original battery which takes 80% of its original charge and doesn't need recharging for 24 hours. Apple intends for its batteries to last for a five year life span. This one obviously is beating that!

They are also fairly easy to replace.
