JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- A woman was killed and her son was injured after they were attacked by two dogs on Monday night ... in the Conifer area. The sheriff's office said two suspected terrier-pit bull mix dogs were involved in the attack...
Investigators said they received a call from the son about 7 p.m. saying he and his mother had been attacked.
When deputies arrived, they did all they could to save the woman's life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

I now carry my wife’s .380 when walking around the area. In my case it’s coyotes and this one wild pack of beagles (dead serious).
Ever notice that with human violence stories people make the “those rascally amish at it again” comments and I’ve noticed with dog attacks I always just assume it’s pit-bull related.
Yet in both cases, we have the apologists for the “slandered” group. Maybe our first impressions are correct, though. Just sayin’.
Really big ditto.
More ignorant idiots writing headlines...so pine trees are dogs now?
Are conifer dogs meaner than pit bull dogs?
Sounds like a nice neighborhood - “31000 block of Black Widow Drive”.
Evolution: Just as big elephants shall go extinct because of loss of their habitat, so too, humans shall be extinct, replaced by their more fittest species, the Bulldog.
Shame the Brit warrior princess kitty named Baby was not on hand.
(If you’ll recall yesterday, there was a thread about a 16 year old cat in Britain named Baby who whipped the a**** and/or scared away seven pit bulls who got too close to its elderly master.
They’re not so brave around something they know can defend that itself.)
” one wild pack of beagles (dead serious).”
I don’t doubt you for a minute but how did this happen?
Can’t they just be shot as any other out-of-control domestic animal can be?
.
Probably, but they’re just too darned cute and funny. :-)

Good to hear-——I got the impression from your first post that they were dangerous.
.
Conifer is the name of the town in Colorado.
Well, I suppose it’s possible, but I mainly have the gun for the coyotes (and rabid raccoons, etc.) I probably didn’t say it very well, though.
BRUTUS, our cat, lives outdoors mostly. She is mean as a
snake if anything crosses her. She bosses DUB, the big dog
we have as a guard dog. BRUTUS is a BUTT.
Yeah, I know, I live in CO. Just having a little fun with a comment posted earlier.
