A team of six people have completed a Mars simulation in Hawaii, where they lived in near isolation for a year.
Since 29 August 2015, the group lived in close quarters in a dome, without fresh air, fresh food or privacy.
Whilst conducting research, the six had to live with limited resources, wear a space-suit when outside the dome, and work to avoid personal conflicts.
They each had a small sleeping cot and a desk inside their rooms. Provisions included powdered cheese and canned tuna.

They had fish and plants to eat!
Looks like they are ‘tuning up’, in preparation to overtake the opposition!
Once in power they can control the food, the women, the thermostat... Power!
The surprising thing to me is there are people who would go to Mars right now and try to survive.
They would have zero chance of doing so.
They had a tunnel and were seen parting all over the island
Did the tunnel have a branch that ended in ETL’s fourth photo (above #6)?
Yes, just above that small waterfall.
How many survived?
Since NASA can’t put a man in space by themselves, they have to use earthbound simulations.
It looks just like Msrs too.
Not as bad as it looks, they had an extended tunnel system!
Yes the days were difficult, being in a used sweaty space suit and having to hang around a crap hole dome.
But at night! HO, ho,ho!!!
Where the days are longer
The nights are stronger than moonshine
You're gonna go I know...
I’d bet that Mars is Obama’s favorite planet. It’s also known as ‘The Red Planet’.
Sadly, the days when you could put on an astronaut hat and meet many young ladies; are gone.
There may be many a nerd at nasa, but still, they are guys!( I hope). You attract more flies with honey than vinegar!!
They need some excuse to get off post.
Hey girl! Wanna come see my dome in Hawaii?
Since 29 August 2015, the group lived in close quarters in a dome, without fresh air, fresh food or privacy.
So they were basically deployed for year. How amazing.
They each had a small sleeping cot and a desk inside their rooms.
Oh, never mind. It was better than a deployment.
Well, now that you put it like that...
30 months RVN, a few very bad days, some extra holes in my hide, many hot, humid and boring days subject to sudden change.
Could powdered cheese be as bad as ‘pork and little m-——f’ers, that came in C rats? (AKA pork and lima beans)
This bunch is living the good life. far better than a REMF!
I would think other people would be the most dangerous thing after awhile.
Dangerous/samegerous!
None of the very dangerous blast offs or reentries required!
One quick call to any Astronaut union hall, they are standing in line waiting for a shot like this one!
Shovel, shut up and call for a replacement!
