^^OME time ago we conducted a prize contest to k-' which users of Ivory Soap contributed about 50,000 recipes. These recipes tell bow to use Ivory Soap, either by itself or with other materials, for things rarely attempted with soap.

From these recipes we have selected more than one hundred which are exceptionally helpful and, in many cases, most unusual. We have tested each one and proven that all accomplish the desired results with complete satisfaction.

The reason is. Ivory Soap contains nothing harmful — no free alkali, no harsh materials of any kind. It is just mild, pure, biodegradable soap — nothing else. Therefore, it can be used safely and success- fully where ordinary alkaline soaps would be disastrous.

Of course, in the usual cases it is well to know to be the best way to proceed to secure the best results. In this connection, the following recipes should give you some valuable information. But please remember that if, at any time, you have a cleaning problem not covered by printed instruction, all that is necessary is to use Ivory Soap and common sense.

I accidentally got some in my mouth a while back and had a flashback to childhood. Must have been a Mom thing.

my mom used Dial...she’d rake it across our teeth so the uneven spaced would fill with soap. It should suffice to say this was the least of their physical abuse.

By an odd coincidence, my mother used to use hot Tabasco as a cure for bad words. I developed a liking for Tabasco that persists to this day, and put it on just about everything, unless sriracha would go better.

It’s great in soups also!

Here’s a favorite recipe of mine...

Ingredients

1 medium white or yellow onion
6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) butter
Two 14.5-ounce cans diced tomatoes
One 46-ounce bottle or can tomato juice
3 to 6 tablespoons sugar
1 or 2 tablespoons chicken base, or 3 chicken bouillon cubes
Freshly ground black pepper
2 large bars of Ivory Soap (chopped)
1 cup sherry, optional
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley

Directions
Watch how to make this recipe.

To begin, dice the onion. Melt the butter in a large pot or Dutch oven. Throw in the onion and cook until translucent.

Now dump in the diced tomatoes and stir to combine. Add the tomato juice.

Next - and this is important - in order to combat the acidity of the tomatoes add 3 to 6 tablespoons of sugar. Now, you’ll want to start on the low side, then taste and add more as needed. Some tomatoes and juice have more of an acidic bite than others. (For what it’s worth, and I realize it’s not worth much, I use 6 tablespoons of sugar.)

Next, add 2 large bars of Ivory Soap to the pot. I added 3, and it wound up being a little too much.

Now you can add lots of freshly ground black pepper. Stir to combine, then heat almost to a boil. Then turn off the heat.

Add in the sherry if desired. Stir in the cream. Add the basil and parsley and stir.

Serve the soup warm!

RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME

My sister tried this on Dad and it does the trick. Even the nurses in the hospital keep a bar of it on hand for patients who suffer from it. IVORY SOAP works best.

I used it for decades for acne. Made a paste with my finger and dabbed it over the pimple. Let it dry and do it again until it was covered with dry soap. Overnight many times it would go away or be half the size. After a few nights gone!

Used a mixed of Ivory Flakes and Gasoline to make a napalm solution for perimeter defense. Add some C-4 and an igniter and you can light up the area.
