When You Say Never Trump by AlfonZo Rachel Another short video on Alfonzo's view on current events.
The NeverTrump people just care about the GOP or the conservative movement (whatever that is, given that it lined up behind Bush, McCain, and Romney like obedient ducklings).
They don’t care about the country.
They see Trump as a threat to the gravy train.
Every Hillary supporter I know is surprised by my unabashed support for Trump. When I explain why, every single one of them has inevitably asked something like, “If you benefit from the gravy train, why wouldn’t you want it to continue?”
They vote like trained seals, with little thought beyond the next fish.
I love his comparison to Jonah and the Ninevites and Jonah’s unforgiveness. I like Zo’s commentary he has a good head on his shoulders.
I have another theory.
Those NeverTrumpers are the ones in deep blue states, who know their votes don’t count.
So they beat on their chests and proclaim to the world how pure they are.
I live in a deep blue city in a deep blue state, after having lived in a red state most of my life.
The experience has made me more agile and directed in my thinking. Also much more clever and forceful in a political discussion, aware of where my opponent is going before he/she knows it. I can get a table of libs to backpedal, say “Hmmm, I’ll have to read up on that...” and change the topic to sports or music or art.
But the topic of Trump whips blue state libs to an emotional frenzy. I have to be careful how much I disclose of my support of him since it will unquestionably shut down the conversation.
I think you are close, that it is a phenomenon of deep-blue state conservatives, but their NeverTrump position is to maintain comity with their numerous lib friends and acquaintances.
By responding in this way, they are letting the emotional extortion tactic of libs to proscribe their thinking. It’s a mistake.
Zo knows his Bible and has a funny and sarcastic way of applying it’s lessons to current events. I like it.
