Two New Jersey Transit buses collided Friday in a horrific t-bone crash in busy downtown Newark, killing one person and injuring at least 19 others, according to the county prosecutor's office.
The identity of the person who died wasn't immediately known. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka told a news conference that the fatality was one of the bus drivers, and that 7 of the injured were in critical condition.

Bus drivers in the NYC metro area all drive like complete idiots. I am not surprised this could happen.
I worked for a company that sold video surveillance systems to Philly’s Septa system. Because the system recorded the footage to an encrypted hard drive, it was admissible in court.
Some of the outtakes were hilarious. One crash showed a Septa bus rear ending another bus, at which point the driver opened the doors and about 5 amish people ran onto the bus and laid down in the aisle.
Another photo showed a bus being mildly t-boned by a pickup, and a full 5 seconds after all motion ceased, a female passenger threw herself against the window and then grabbed her neck.
The CEO was often called to court to testify about the system, and had the pleasure of watching the plaintiffs crumble when the video was shown in court.
Funny and sad at the same time.

Here in California, the Vietnamese community own companies that run buses between San Jose and the large Vietnamese communities in Westminster and Garden Grove. I've seen those buses and they generally are very new with a pretty good safety record.
I wonder if either of the drivers was yelling any praises to any particular deity just before impact. Not saying they were. Just wondering.

Until recently, I held a bus driver license. You’d have to be a complete moron to drive that fast through an intersection and do that much damage. That wasn’t a 25 mph collision.
It’s just as possible they were both saying, “Sucka thinks I’m gonna stop for him. No way!”

Both were. Neiter would submit to the other. My bus is greater.
