Anna Gunn on 'Equity' and the hurdles powerful women face (barf alert)
Metro International ^ | August 10, 2016 | Matt Prigge

There’s a parallel there with Hillary Clinton. There’s so much negativity and criticism of her, but then you watch the Democratic National Convention and you see how much she’s done. People focus more on the negative side than the positive. They certainly do. That’s something women experience across the board in every profession. We’re seeing [Clinton’s] qualifications, her intellect, her policies, her track record. But everyone thinks, ‘Let’s not focus on that, let’s focus on the way she dresses or wears her hair.’ That’s something Barbara said women have to think about a lot more than men. She picks out the color of her suit depending on the client she’s dealing with. Maybe they’re dealing with someone who prefers a pink suit. On another day you might need to wear that red power dress. That’s something that doesn’t come into play with men. People aren’t tweeting and blogging about men’s choice of suits the next day. [Laughs]

In case you need more proof on why as a nation we may end up with Hillary Clinton as president. While I am unfamiliar with the person quoted, her basic lack of knowledge and emphasis on clothing rather than say world matters is where we stand. No mention of the sacrifices men made to give us freedom. This can quality as a "who gives a damn" but we should. It could be eight years of this.

Being “powerful” and all you don’t sweat the hurdles (or did I miss something?).

You're not being fair. The first three sentences are the interviewer's. He's feeding her what he wants her to say. And she being an actress responds in kind.

She wants to talk about her character. He sets up the Clinton analogy. If she were very political and anti-Clinton -- which she wouldn't be since she's a Hollywood actress -- she might object, but she isn't so she doesn't.

Her words: But everyone thinks, ‘Let’s not focus on that, let’s focus on the way she dresses or wears her hair.’

Really? We never talk about...say Benghazi?

Skyler on Breaking Bad. Didn’t care for that character.

Maybe it’s because powerful women aren’t really powerful, they’re just backstabbing liars.

“... but then you watch the Democratic National Convention and you see how much she’s done.”

There are never any specifics about what she’s done. It’s always an empty generality about how she’s ‘worked hard for...’ or ‘pushed for’ or ‘championed’ this or that leftist cause. She’s an ‘advocate’ of some feel-good liberal pap so she somehow deserves to run the most powerful country in the world?!? HECK NO!!!

And as for Gunn’s comment about Hillary’s supposed intellect, what about her reckless stupidity about hosting secret info on an unsecured server and then being too frickin’ stupid to understand what it means to wipe a server. If she’s so damned smart, she’s a liar and should be in prison. If she’s truly that clueless she’s not capable of being president.

The Democrat media is bringing up Hillary’s appearance and style, rather than focusing on her unimpressive-to-disastrous record in elective and appointed office.

We’re seeing [Clinton’s] qualifications, her intellect, her policies, her track record.

Qualifications: none.
Intellect: nothing to write home about.
Policies: disastrous; she has caused unprecedented turmoil in a very dangerous part of the world.
Track record: Abysmal. I've heard that 200,000 have died in Syria because of her policies. And, of course, we must never forget Benghazi.

Yeah, I would be pissed too if my dying husband brought home millions of dollars to secure me and my children’s future. NOT!

I wasn’t politically savvy back in the 80s. Were liberals gushing over themselves about the leadership of Maggie Thatcher? Golda Maeir?

Many people called Sarah Palin nasty names. Women did it, too. And few liberals defended her against attacks.

Okay I guess she missed the part about people making fun of Trump’s skin color, and his hair, hands, etc ad naseum. women are the queens of double standards lol
and I think “hurdles powerful women face” is stupid. if they are powerful, it seems they’ve already gotten over way more hurdles than the rest of us.
