It is very easy to use logical shorthand and say that, "Democrat voters will always vote for the candidate with the (D) after their name."
This is a quick and oft-repeated and easily understood means of explaining Democrat voting behavior. We are, in essence, saying that Democrat voters are foolish people who are prejudiced towards Democrat candidates.
But are they really that simple?
I believe that Democrat voters use their own cost/benefit analysis when deciding who to vote for. They vote based on economic considerations. They do not vote based on groupthink or celebrity adulation. It is important to understand this difference. This understanding determines the way that we convince Democrat voters to not vote for lesser Democrat candidates.
In our nation, we select people for important government jobs by voting. The candidate who receives the most votes gets the job. We want to select, to vote for, the best person for the job. We want ALL voters to vote for the best person for the job. This way, we ensure that the best person gets the job. So how do we convince these Democrat voters to stop voting for lesser Democrat candidates?
First, we have to accept that Democrat voters do a Cost/Benefit Analysis when deciding to vote. They are voting to receive the MOST benefit for the cost they pay. In this case, they see going to vote as their cost.
To be continued.
Democrats vote by slogans.
“But are they really that simple?”
Yes, they really are, at least the vast majority of them. And to be clear, by simple, I mean simple-minded as well as one-dimensional in their motivations.
They may do a cost-benefit analysis, but they are too stupid to include all the variables they should be accounting for. So the only real variable they seem to account for is who is going to provide more “free stuff”, and those candidates always happen to be Democrats.
Many (many) reliable dem voters are dependent on the government, by design. They are “employed” in the sense that they do their job - vote, the they get paid in benefits. So to keep their “jobs” and livelyhood, we get 40-50% dem totals. That’s Trump’s problem. He has to convince 5 to 10 percent that he offers a better, safer, life with more opportunity. See America First and bringing manufacturing jobs home, limiting job replacements, etc.
Illegal, fictional, and dead voters always support the democrat out of self-interest. The person casting the ballot has been paid to do so, so the vote carries its own immediate reward.
Union voters often vote democrat out of ignorance. They like being told what to do, and they trust (or fear) the union thugs who tell them to vote democrat.
Parasites - those who have chosen welfare as a multi-generation lifestyle - vote democrat out of greed. They know decent people will cut their freebies, to give them an incentive to contribute to society, and they want all the free stuff a corrupt government can steal.
Then there are tyrants. I would like to think that most tyrants are democrats, but the establishment wing of the republican party seems to be encroaching on turf that used to be controlled by big government democrats.
That and the notion that the costs are going to borne by “somebody else.” If a welfare slug, then some probably lighter skinned taxpayer. If a government worker or contractor, then some schmuck in the real economy which has to provide real goods and services. Sure, it may mean their personal taxes go up, but they expect to get a raise or sell stuff to the government which will more than offset the tax increase.
