Looks like it might be interesting.
Sure ping me for now.
Wondering, why the NY Tribune instead of the Times?
Added to the ping list. Tribune vs Times = The Tribune is available free online. The Times is not.

LOL! The adverts are among the most entertaining aspects of these old papers.
FYI: July 9th, 1896 was the date of the famous “Cross of Gold” speech. William Jennings Bryan gave it at the Democrat National Convention in Chicago and thus clinched his nomination as the Democrat Candidate running against McKinley.
OK, thanks.
Do you have a Sunday paper version of the ping - once a week? If so I’d prefer a once-a-week ping.
If not, go ahead and ping me and we’ll see how it goes.
Thanks.
Trump would have slapped a tariff on foreign flus.
Please add me to your ping list. Thank you.
Indeed. Bryan’s nomination and support for bi-metalism (Free Silver) shattered the unity of the Democratic Party. A lot of Grover Cleveland (conservative - sound money) Democrats could not bring themselves to support the populist and voted for McKinley. The interesting thing is that until 1896 the Republicans had been the party of Free Silver. Pretty much every edition of the papers from this period were filled with stories about the great monetary debate.
Here is a link to the July 10th edition of the Tribune that covered Bryan’s speech and the Democratic Convention...
