Probably a good time to get a great deal on a VW, with the bad press and all. Doesn’t matter to me, I will hype VW’s to anyone looking for a car.
They have a manual turbo DI gas engine in a Jetta size station wagon that would be nearly as good as a TDI for higher altitude cities and mountain work.
