A black liberal 'friend of a friend' on Facebook posted the following thoughts.
"The days of hashtags and updated profile pictures are over. King quotes, as powerful as they are, aren't enough. It's time to do the hard work, the heavy lifting. March, yes, but also vote. Turn anger into peaceful, organized action. Hold your elected officials accountable for their words, actions, and their inaction. Have those hard conversations with friends who don't look like you (assuming you actually do life with people that don't look like you). I'm disgusted with the slaughter of police officers in Dallas. I'm angry at the unnecessary killing of people of color. But rather than go back to life as usual in a few days let's make this moment a catalyst for change in all our lives. We can't fix everything that's wrong in our communities or overhaul law enforcement practices overnight. But we can start where we are with what we have. Love one another. Be kind to one another. Watch your back. Watch your brother's back. Make space in your life for disagreement without hatred. Mourn with those who mourn without judging whether or not they SHOULD be mourning. That is the hard work of brotherhood and family we are called to today. It's easy to allow your emotions to take over. Any fool can do that. Love says, "Though you kill me, though you wound me, though you slander and demonize me, I extend love and grace and mercy until the darkness in you is overcome by the light in me." That's our charge in these days, friends."

I have often wondered why can’t I be part of the “brotherhood” or be a “brother”? (I am not black)

As a purely human enterprise you're correct.
IF they are genuinely mourning - rather than exploiting the opportunity to air their grievances, spread blame with a broad brush, and demand reparations, all the while insisting that I shut the f*ck up because I'm White, or well-to-do, or employed.

Sure. Let me rephrase your liberal friend’s statement in a more concise fashion:

How many times have we seen this movie?
If you want to do the truly “hard work” let’s start by being intellectually honest and accept what has been proven to be true over and over again everywhere in the world - generally speaking blacks and whites cannot coexist peacefully together.
No explanation is necessary (though there is one) - all blacks and whites need to do is accept that reality and come to the only conclusion that makes sense that benefits both races. That is, a friendly separation. People of each race get their own separate country and run them as they wish.
Even Lincoln realized this. Unfortunately he didn’t have the courage to follow through. Going back to old pablums about love and just getting along is not doing the hard work or having honest conversations.

Blacks need to learn how to make the right personal choices that overcome flaws in their nature and nurture so that they have acquired a proper character and can act in a way that does not make it necessary for them to get stopped by cops and causes them to be shot by cops. It's called proper development.
Blacks have abandoned the teachings of Dr. King who advocated integration. To integrate means to combine separate components into one (i.e. an integrated circuit). Dr. King was advocating a monocultural solution and those who advocate for multiculturalism are rejecting King’s solution.
Liberals are encouraging blacks to self-segregate which is splitting America apart.
Criminal lives don’t matter.
This can’t be the work of a liberal; no call for disarming the populace, posting photos of the “assault rifle,” or blaming Trump.
Here's a comment: Is there any liberal out there anywhere, who can think for themselves and formulate a thought or statement that hasn't been programmed into their pathetic pea-brains?
