I just watched her last night in Shakespeare's Midsummer nights dream. She was very good in it as Hermia. Happy Birthday, Olivia! What a beauty you were :)

You can tell a lot from a person's face sometimes.

Eyes of a life well lived, and one interesting lady. Happy birthday.

Remarkable career. I may have to watch the Blu-ray of the film that is one of my top 1 or 2 favorite movies tonight - The Adventures of Robin Hood.

Olivia Mary de Havilland was born July 1, 1916, in Tokyo, Japan, to British parents. Who knew?
Her sister, actress Joan Fontaine, (also born in Tokyo), died in 2013 at 96 years old.
Good gene pool.

There is a street named after her in Saratoga, California.

Her family lived there for a while back in the day.

Her aging is a symbol of the passing of America’s glory days. Hail and farewell!

Melanie Hamilton Wilkes is still alive?

I never knew

She outlived most of the cast by 50 years

She isn’t the last surviving cast member from Gone With The Wind. The two who played her son (Beau Wilkes) in the movie Patrick Curtis (uncredited) as an infant and Mickey Kuhn are still around. There might be a few others although everyone else in the main cast have passed away. Regardless Olivia is remarkable to have reached this milestone. Congrats!

I remember back in 1969, my parents were on a 90 day cruise on the QE2 and they wrote to my brother and I and said that they met Olivia de Havilland and her husband on board. I was in college and my brother was doing his internship, so we didn’t go.
