He demanded heavy duty body armor used by law enforcement officers
When they said they didn't have that, he requested bulk ammunition
The store's owner said he reported the incident to the authorities in May
But the FBI did not visit the store or investigate further, says owner
Surveillance from that day has also since been erased
Mateen later bought an AR-15 and semi-automatic pistol from another store And he was 'seen on CCTV buying ammunition with his wife in June'

A gun store owner who reported Orlando shooter Omar Mateen to authorities weeks before the massacre has said the FBI did not investigate the store and that no copies of surveillance had been taken.
Robbie Abell, co-owner of Lotus Gunworks, told ABC news that while there was a follow-up conversation with agents, the FBI never visited the south Florida store after he alerted them and failed to investigate further.

Gun store owner should have said the person asking about body armor was a tea partier, then action would have been taken.
