The next emoji update will be two characters short of what was originally planned the result of a "late stage" change, according to the organization overseeing the symbols. Now, a new report suggests the change may have come from an unlikely source: Apple.
According to BuzzFeed, the rifle emoji had a chance of making it on the list of new emoji that Unicode, the organization in charge of them, was creating for 2016. However, that was not to be, and Apple was one of the larger voices rallying against its inclusion. Though a rifle was scheduled to be coded up for the Unicode 9.0 release, Apple allegedly indicated that it had no interest in having the emoji on any of its devices. Microsoft, too, opposed the rifle, but we don't know its specific argument. Everyone else on the Unicode consortium seemed to be fine with dropping the rifle, as the decision to remove it from the final release ended up being unanimous.

I’ve had 48 Great and sometimes difficult years.
I’ll have no regrets.
I would say this SERIOUS statement unless I meant it.
We can’t wait a lot longer guys.
Trump MUST win, or we will have to START with public protests, blocking men from using the women’s room, wearing shirts with GUNS on them and saying f...t if we damn please. Or any OTHER word.
I would imagine conservatives are the most productive people in the country so we could shut down business countrywide maybe.
And then there’s the last step...
BTW, are there mass arrests in Brooklyn for calling each other n....er?
“We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.’
Fat old white guy.
This is what two generations of leftist Public Education gets ya.
These freakin’ precious snowflakes will make great cannon fodder.
What a disservice we’ve done to our children. Well, some of them, anyways. I still know a few kids that are itching to yell, ‘Wolverines!’
And thank God for THAT small favor! :)
Yep....

What does our resident Apple expert FRiend say about this?

I can’t believe the human race came from drawing on cave walls with pictograms to being able to communicate globally without effort - even sending messages into space.
And now the human race is drawing on cave walls again. Unbelievable.

I want to make it so that any other candidate or politician CAN NOT RISK appearing in public. I want it so that everytime the convoy leaves the bunker their assholes are pinched so hard that they turn inside out.
They don’t fear us now. That needs to change. I know I sound like an asshole here - but all other options have been exercised and refuted.
I like the idea of gathering a bunch of us and simply blocking a bathroom. There are plenty of bathrooms to block.
Also, 20 motorcycles just riding around randomly can shut down a motorcade with a quickness.
And 17hmr is great for continually taking out surveillance cameras. That shit has to go.
We NEED this election.
I live in NYC/USSR so I dont have a gun, but if they start to try and take all of you guys’ guns, I’m getting a plane ticket and heading south to help.
I’ve done crazier things.
I dont have kids so I have a lot less to personally lose, but let’s REALLY HOPE it doesn’t come to any of that.

You've read your Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged" I assume?
I’m VERY honest on this board. I’m not a book reader. Never was.
But I’ve heard SO MUCH about it.
If it will help me better understand the enemy and how to fight back, I’ll read it.
#1 It is fiction.
#2 It is ones persons story of values of different people in the world.
#3 It may help you identify the enemy and how they operate and think and that alone is worth something.
#4 It is quite a long book and sometimes hard to follow. It may require re-reading certain chapters to get it. After reading it through once you will always find something you missed the previous reading.
Yep. What he said. Agreed on all points.
