Duh. Go to a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday delivery model. Then to a Tuesday, Thursday model in 5-10 years.
Maybe someone like Donald J Trump can straighten it out.
Blow up the entire thing and let FedEx manage mail...
The only thing saving them is the fact that they got the Amazon deliveries contract. And they do a crappy job of it, too.
I find if I order my Amazon Prime items on Friday evening, the USPS actually has to deliver them to me on Sunday. HaHa.
They priced small business out of mass mail advertising.
eff them. They have lost a lot of merchandise on me and never once gave me my money pack for not delivering a package.
Trump will put this out for bids. This thing we have is just a big inefficient government boondoggle. Don’t need Saturday. I want all junk mail NOT DELIVERED.
It’s been dead for years. It’s only been massive tax dollar transfusions that is keeping the appearance of life.
don’t fret none, the government will continue to prop it up using our tax dollars...nothing much will change, except costs will rise (most being hidden in the form of government subsidies), and service will get worse.
for like 20 years now, no?
One of the few functions of FedGov that is both useful and Constitutional.
Mend it, don’t end it.
To a degree its suicide. Try buying postage stamps. Used to be readily available without finding a P.O. line to stand in. If you only need one or two good luck. Gotta buy a book for $$ if you can find them.
If they didn’t deliver zillions of pieces of junk mail every day for pennies per envelope, they’d be rolling in money. Instead they try to screw over grandma and grandpa who are just sending a birthday card to the grandkids. Well, guess what? There are alternatives AND WE USE THEM!
Not good news. The postal service does a good job, is needed.
They have 70 years worth of pensions saved up. They are smarter then most districts and state governments who spent their workers money and will have to pay the piper soon. Post office won’t have that problem. They are the smartest agency we have and most constitutional. Also if they get into banking it will change everything for them.
seriously, if we didn't have these postal workers making so much money, so many benefits with outrageous pensions at early ages, maybe the postal service could survive....
these govt workers think their poop don't stink...
We had a dear friend send several jars of home made jam. Each was bubble wrapped 2” thick and placed in a corrugated box lined with 2” more.
The US Post Office managed to break every one plus they charged $41.00 for their fine service.
