Yeah, everyone noticed that at the time. ;') Newton was a damned sight smarter than Einstein, but there were a few lifetimes worth of new observations and measurements that Newton to which hadn't had access. Nice GIF, although it would look better with transparency off, or on, whichever.

Oh, my! You’re like me. I started assembler on an IBM 1130, moving soon to SEL 810s and 840s, PDP 11/40, and so on. I still hit assembler from time to time in the interrupt vectors.

Did Einstein ever admit the connection to emc and fma?
To: GingisK
Speaking of SELs, I wrote software for those too, including an assembler driver for an NSC 400 series network adapter that pre-dated Ethernet.

Did Einstein ever admit to the connection between his emc and Newton’s fma?

Sharepoint sucks. Yes, it does suck but it's how I make my living. At least it was until last week. Now I'm looking for a job too.

Oh, don't be so down! You're a big, tall, smart, strong man, and everybody
really likes you. Bryan didn't even mind when you hugged me, my friend.

...Speaking of SELs... I am totally stunned that somebody out there besides me has even heard of them.
I liked all of that old junk better than the "same old PCs" that infest the world today. Those were wonderful times.

The difference is, Einstein put in a velocity limit, Newton didn’t (Einstein also fiddled with Planck’s constant if memory serves). Newton didn’t consider the possibility that his equation wasn’t infinitely scalable for velocity. Einstein assumed mass increases with velocity, or perhaps more accurately, inertia increases on a curve until velocity reaches c.

To: SunkenCiv
Thanks SunkenCiv! It makes sense that Newton offered no limitation to the velocity aspect of his equation. He was in no position to imagine there may be a max velocity.
To: COBOL2Java
Oof! Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Scott Adams heard a conversation just like this verbatim in real life.

I like a full Integrated Development Environment. Intellisense is awesome. You also can map the same name to multiple objects and with Intellisense you can choose the right base class or object.
