GOP OFFICE HOLDERS: If Trump is Kicked Out, we walk too, and YOU WILL LOSE (vanity)
(self) | June 11, 2016 | BobL (self)

Given the rumors that are flying around about 'changing the rules' at the GOP convention so as to prevent Donald Trump from being the Republican nominee, I think some thought should be given to the potential collateral damage to the Republican Party's efforts in November.

First, I'll state the obvious - if Trump is denied his position on the ballot in 2016, I simply will not vote for president - and I suspect that holds for many, probably a majority of Trump supporters.

So Romney, Ryan, or whoever replaces him will simply have to find another pool of millions of voters to push them over the top, and I'll give them a hit - IT DOESN'T EXIST. The only pool of voters they'll find is the 10,000 or so GOP insiders that can't stand Trump crashing their little conclave. The millions of us that took the time and made the effort to go out and vote, we'll simply will NOT VOTE for this new candidate.

Now I assume the above is already obvious to the GOP Leaders, so it's time to add a bit more to the mix. Do not, for a minute, think that us Trump voters have some great love for the GOP. WE DO NOT. We've been asking for a candidate to secure our borders (and that includes terrorist immigration) for over a decade, and all we get are Open Borders types and back-room scheming to try to get Amnesty through - the same Amnesty that is even opposed by a (albeit slim) majority of Democrats. The only people 'extreme' on this issue are the ones (in both parties) that will not let go of this push.

So here's what happens if we do not see Trump on the ticket - you Republican SENATORS, CONGRESSMEN, and CANDIDATES are going down with him. We will not vote for a party that denies its own voters their choice of a candidate...THAT SIMPLE.

So you guys, if you want, can continue your scheming to try to figure out a way to keep Trump off the November ballot - but if you do, be prepared to LOSE YOUR SEATS too, and watch the GOP end up with as much power nationally as it now has in California...a fate deserving of them if they try this stunt.

And you cannot say you weren't warned, for this is YOUR WARNING.

I believe as long as they hold their positions of power, they truly couldn’t care less who is elected, and as a matter of fact, they would prefer Hitlary to Trump, truth be told.

The nevertrumpers already lost. Trump now owns the convention and the GOP. Corey Lewandowski said so himself.

They live in a media bubble and listen to traitors like Joe Scarborough as if he was Jesus. These arrogant elitists think they can put down a Trump and go back to the way it was..they are clueless

This movement is much bigger than Trump but he is the fearless leader at the right place and the right time.

The elites, being one party, are indifferent as to who wins. Those in government are enemies to those who elected them. The elites want only money, perks and power. The concept of the welfare of all is long gone. It is fight or go under.

I would agree - but the people that are elected still want to hold their seats - have 20 million or so sit out the election, and they’re out of a job too. It’s really up to them hold off the Never-Trumper - if they want to their jobs.

Waiting for the ‘if you dont vote for the GOP candidate then you’re voting dem’ crowd to show up. If it’s not Trump then it’ll be a uniparty candidate which is not different that a dem.

Was my plans already.

Trump not on the ballot for POTUS.

Then I stay home and vote for NO Republicans down ticket.

Wonder what happens to Georgia Republicans in DC if No Trump supporters vote for them?

“The elites, being one party, are indifferent as to who wins.”

I agree - see my Post 7. Lots of them would JUST LOVE to have Hillary as president, so as to use her to leverage funding. But OFFICEHOLDERS who have to be re-elected to keep their jobs are in a totally different situation - they do not want to lose, but they will lose if they allow the party to take Trump off the ticket.

You must be reading my mind (and my email).

I just yesterday emailed my Congressman Amodei and my Senator Heller saying basically the same thing.

If the Republicans will not and do not support Trump, if they take him down, I will not vote Republican again.

I will always vote but it will be a vote against a Republican.

Nice - in their bubble, they probably figure if they take Trump down, they can fire up us LOSERS to hate Hillary enough to go out and vote for them.

Pretty much the same strategy they used in 2008 and 2012, except that this time there are TWO ADDITIONAL FACTORS involved - either of which would be enough to cause a Democrat blowout:

1) We have now seen that strategy FAIL TWICE
2) We will have our candidate, and HE WAS REMOVED

This will be an epic election if they try that (and not in a good way) and there will be a HUGE number of Republican officeholders packing their bags and probably heading home, as even lobbyist jobs won’t be available to them, in a ONE PARTY STATE.

I'm here and want to hear your solution to keeping Hillary out of the White House. Trump is our only hope and like it or not, you need a reality check.

If they do ANYTHING to compromise the nomination, Republicans won't win so much as local dog catcher. It would be CW2. The Illuminati would have to lock themselves in their gated, WALLED retreats for the rest of their sorry lives.

They had this all thought out, didn't they? A Jeb strategy where he or a fellow traveler would win most states, then throw their electoral votes to Jeb. A rigged Democratic Party primary process where an outsider lost before the first vote was cast.

Mygosh, THEY LOST. I wish they could be escorted out of the Q next month and released in the midst of pro-Bernie protestors.

I haven’t heard anything from my Senator (who is on the neverTrump bandwagon) but I did get a weird response from my Congressman.

“They had this all thought out, didn’t they?”

I wrote this little piece because of the articles and rumors out there.

The GOP is acting a lot like sub-prime borrowers: “Give me the money and then I’ll start working on a way to repay it”.

Same here with Trump: “We’ll kick him off the ballot...and then we’ll figure out how to at least get our officeholders re-elected in November”.

Good luck to both.
