I did not see any biology in the question.
According to The Salt Lake Tribune, the question was removed from the tests after parents voiced their concern. EHS principal Kathleen Webb says it is unclear who wrote the question, but that it does not appear to have been written by the school’s biology teacher. Webb called the question “obviously inappropriate,” and said she intends to investigate the situation.
Case closed.
Oh and we will do it again.
High school students should be prepared for discussions on moral issues like this. They have to start applying critical thinking two social issues. It seemed to me there were a wide range of answers and that the Spectrum was covered. Did I miss something?
Abortion, dickchopping, homo stuff. Is that what schools are teaching?
This has not place on a biology test. I ran into a similar issue regarding a biology assignment when my daughter was in high school. I told the teacher it was not an ethics class. That she was not qualified to teach ethics. That my daughter would not be answering the question as we were strongly pro-life and since a faith based answer would most likely not be received well would rather give the matter a pass.
A. The parents should wait until the baby is ready to be born, then re-do the genetic tests to see if the results have changed.
And if the results are unchanged, the parents can elect to do what? Partial-birth abortion is just plain old murder.
When my wife was pregnant with our daughter. The doctor came in with a test saying it indicated she would have downs... He said we should confirm with amnio... I said nope. We are having this baby... The nurses said you should watch this video, which was basically all the reasons you should abort... we walked out. She was born some months later.... perfectly normal... well.... extraordinarily normal... she is brilliantly smart, beautiful, dynamic socially... she is 12 and attending college classes... I often think, those poor women that have only fear that believed the tests killed their babies and never thought... what if the tests were wrong let alone, making a choice of killing their child out of social and emotional fear. So sad... And I know, there are many who have. There is Forgiveness and full redemption for you, I promise.
