A man was shot in the buttocks around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday (May 26) near the intersection of Delachaise and South Saratoga streets, according to New Orleans police.
A woman who lives in the 2100 block of Delachaise said she saw a group of perhaps five young people fooling around with two parked school buses in the block. It looked like they were shaking the bus and messing with the mirrors, she said.
One of her neighbors approached the group and told them to cut it out, the woman said, and they cursed back at him. They told him "you so and so, who do you think you're talking to," she said. The man retreated to his porch, but one of the people in the group followed with a gun, she said.

Like those stories about Jews and Arabs. The Arabs just seem to be "there" when some mysterious entity attacks Jews. Of course, when a Jew is suspected of even a hateful glance, writers default to use of the active voice.
