Is a typical coyote a danger to a full-grown man?

Since I have moved to MA, i have been warned about coyotes, foxes, raccoons, and bobcats, as well as deer who eat strip shrubs up to six feet up the trunk.

Makes me miss the alligators and Burmese Pythons of my former home!

Poor, Cally. Give her steak for the next two weeks. Dad needs his own steaks, too. A shotgun would take care of that coyote.

Where was this?

I just watched a documentary tonight about coywolfs. This is actually a new hybrid of wolf/coyote. Studies show there are 2,000 in Chicago and they’re living with humans and thriving. People have to really watch out for their pets.

I was out with my dogs when a big coyote crossed about 20 feet in front of me. He glanced over at me but kept on trotting. It was lucky the dogs were sniffing down around some bushes and didn’t see him. It probably would have been bloody for all of us.

In Texas we call that guy “Joe” or “Ben” and if he tells the story with lots of @#$#@### and how he got 4 more Coyotes down in the draw and then ends with pictures of the fish he caught that day it is possible that someone might buy him a beer, if they are drinking the same kind.

Cops here in Town have even looked the other way (the whole discharging a Firearm inside City Limits) cause them lil bastards are coming into town now. (Best be a shotgun /birdshot) and that works only if you can get close.

I’m glad the coyote didn’t use an anvil against Cally...

The poor dog.

But I am glad its owners saved his life.

I hope he is recovering well.

One evening years ago after legal hunting hours for deer was over as I stepped out of my blind I saw something run across the field I was in. I pulled up the rifle, identified it as Wyle E. Coyote and bam. Wyle E. Flew about 5 feet.

Took him broadside thru the lungs at 100 yards with my .300 Win. Mag. 30 cal
Entry hole, 50 cent exit hole. Lucky shot.

His hide now resides on my wall. Big alpha male. Close to 60 lbs

Visiting in the mountains of SW Virginia. First thing a neighbor asked is if we had small animals. Seems that coyotes are a problem here as well.
