Five ISIS militants had their tongues cut off by their own fighters after they tried to flee Fallujah amid a military operation to recapture the Iraqi city. The terror group has led a brutal and desperate crackdown on deserters after government forces launched a massive offensive on its Iraqi stronghold. Sources inside the city said five of its members had their tongues hacked out after being sentenced by a sharia court.

Why their tongues? They can still try to flee again even if they are missing tongues.
To put it mildly, except for matters of warfare, mayhem and destruction, ISIS has never been known for thinking in a logical or linear fashion. They did not kill these men. They only disabled or severely maimed them in a horrible way. So how does this help their cause, when the men will still need to be fed, sheltered and transported.
Taking all human compassion out of consideration, this tongue severing creates an ongoing expense. Perhaps they assume the men will eventually commit suicide to escape their hell on earth. So the Mullahs have the short term sadistic satisfaction of torturing one of their own, as a tool of intimidation.
We should nuke ISIS-land from orbit. It would be so much quicker and more humane than what those savages are doing.
