I think the liberal parents push this on the kids because the parents think it will make them important among their friends. They can say: “Hey, Look! I’ve got a transgender child! I am so cool!”
As a New Yorker, who goes to parties with people in publishing and the arts, I can tell you so many of their children have these sex problems. It’s permissiveness up the wazoo. Nothing these kids do is ever wrong or offputting. Admittedly, I’ve never had a conversation with any of these parents about it. But they are doing such a disservice to their kids in not disciplining them.
