“Kasich would be horrible and would undermine Trump at every turn.”
I agree. No Kasich.
Trump is way smarter than I am.
I’m sure he’ll pick a good person.
Rubio announced he was taken off Trumps short list!!!!
Everyone has an idea and opinion. But I am sure Trump has people close to him who will help him choose the right person.
Newt. Trump/Gingrich ticket wins the election because the moment Newt is announced, most of the progressive electorate will keel over with apoplexy.
Colonial West, Palin, Jim Webb, ...
Cruz proved he is a fraud and GOPe or I would have said him. Newton is chief of staff or the other guy. Newton I don’t totally trust as he’s done and said weird things across the aisle before, even with Hitlary.
These are all “inside the box” suggestions. Any typical list on the internet would have these people on it.
Tump would do better to avoid conventional thinking.
How about a military guy?
I personally don’t think Rubio is best choice for a number of reasons, but not because of citizenship issue. His parents came to the US legally, as refugees from Cuba and he was indeed born on US soil, which makes him legally a citizen based on US laws.
On Rubios impact on the Hispanic vote at large. Your basically saying all the information and fact finding by political writers on his impact are wrong. Interesting points and you may or may not be correct. It would be helpful if you could provide source evidence.
Apparently Mary Fallin, governor of OK.
Agreed
Screw identity politics, it doesn’t work.
“Mary Fallin, Republican Governor of Oklahoma.”
Oh God NO!!
My biggest problem with Rubio is he’s a light-weight, lazy, low-energy, snot-nosed little kid.
And that’s the way the country will see him in the general election.
Too early.
Wait until the general campaign shapes up and he knows more of what he needs in a VP pick.
But everybody can have fun with the possibilities.
It doesn't sound like it to me, but do carry on.
Mary Fallin, Republican Governor of Oklahoma.
Jim Webb is also more of a Republican than perhaps 50% of the “Republicans” who represent the party in Washington, DC.
Signing him on as Vice-President would be an altogether BRILLIANT move, as he would have made the absolutely best and most pro-American Presidential candidates the Democrats could have come up with.
But the Democrats are by definition anti-American.
Jim Webb, former Senator from Virginia, has been a combat Marine, a counsel in the Congress, an assistant secretary of defense and Secretary of the Navy, an Emmy-award winning journalist, a film-maker, and the author of ten books.
Jim Webb is descended principally from the Scots-Irish settlers who came to this country from Northern Ireland in the 18th century and became pioneers in the Virginia mountains. Through the 1800’s and early 1900’s, the Webb ancestors moved steadily west and south from Virginia, most often to settlements in North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas and Missouri. In the mid-1900’s many members of the family joined the westward migration to California, and the family is now scattered throughout the continental United States.
Both sides of Jim Webb’s family have a strong citizen-soldier military tradition that predates the Revolutionary War. His own father was a career Air Force officer who flew B-17s and B-29s during World War Two, cargo planes during the Berlin Airlift, and was a pioneer in the United States missile program. Colonel Webb was the first family member to finish high school and graduated from the University of Omaha in 1962 after 26 years of night school.
Jim Webb graduated from the Naval Academy in 1968, receiving a special commendation for his leadership contributions. First in his class of 243 at the Marine Corps Officers Basic School, he served as a rifle platoon and company commander in Vietnam and was awarded the Navy Cross, the Silver Star Medal, two Bronze Star Medals, and two Purple Hearts. He graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1975.
Mr. Webb served in Congress as counsel to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs from 1977 to 1981. In 1982 he led the fight to include an African American soldier in the Vietnam Veterans memorial on the National Mall. In 1984 he was appointed Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, and in 1987 became Secretary of the Navy.
Trump hasn’t selected anybody yet...He will select who he thinks will do the best job for what Trump wants to accomplish...
We don’t know WHO that will be....
