She needed a little more me time.
Meghann Foye the author of Meternity bailed on her Friday Good Morning America interview at the last minute, facing intense backlash from moms and childless women who say shes deeply mistaken about maternity leave.

Wonder how many participation trophies the authorette has received in her life.
I’d advise her to “go to the light,” but
in her case that’d be the refrigerator door light.
I would have been happy to continue on with my life not knowing that this woman or this issue ever existed. Then I clicked on this thread. Groan.
I’ve got me a ‘meternity’ leave. . . . . . it’s called retirement.
Isn’t “meternity” leave really just a vacation?!? We already have that. Frankly, businesses ought to charge all their employees for medical leave, vacation, or whatever, according to their policies.
Paid maternity leave is all about me/we deciding to have a child. If a business can afford it thats their choice - and they must have a lot of money to burn - but govt mandating it is not justifiable one iota.
Sorry, women already get plenty of “me time.” They take off WAY more than men. It’s always something, kids, sick, doctor, vet, etc, etc.
Go ahead, flame away but you know it’s true.
Happens to me all the time.
But I have never stopped to articulate it like you just did.
I say to myself, “WHY AM I READING THIS?”

LOL.
Are you really referring to all those doctor appointments for the kids as ‘me’ time for the mom?
That’s just funny.
Another liberal Me Generation success story.
