Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis says he wants to move the team to Las Vegas and is willing to spend a half billion dollars as part of a deal for a new stadium in the city.

Davis upped the ante in a bid to move the team to this gambling city, appearing Thursday alongside soccer great David Beckham and billionaire casino owner Sheldon Adelson before a committee studying the idea of a $1.4 billion stadium.

I just can’t see the NFL approving a team in Vegas. A major headache for the league is keeping the players out of the sort of trouble associated with nightclubbing, gambling, etc. (cf. Manziel, Johnny). So, you’re going to spend season after season flying whole teams into trouble’s way? Don’t think so.

The Rams owner may have outfoxed himself. It’s not a coincidence that the one of the biggest media markets in the U.S. didn’t have a team for 20 years.

I thought Mark Davis was a talk show host in Dallas, Texas. I guess that was just his ‘for fun’ hobby.

How So? I admit, I am young, so what in the past has made L.A. such a hard market? is it because there is just so much to do? The Beach etc etc?

I did read though about the Move Back to L.A. Here: THE "WOW" FACTOR [Long Form Inside Story about Rams Relocation to LA]

Its long but good.

I think an even bigger problem is water. Vegas has a huge water shortage and will get worse if a team and thousands of workers who come with it. A ton of mansions will have to be built somewhere.

Vegas sells water to SF and near by. So the Raiders are already using Vegas water... kind of.
