I can. Given that hardly anyone who is sentenced to ten years actually does ten years, damn right we need it. Length of sentence is in proportion to heinousness and seerity of tge crime. For non violent serious felonies it is needed because they are crimes that didnt murder anyone.
If it is so heinous that it deserves 10 years or more in prison, dispose of them at the local crematorium. Optional if a death sentence is carried out first.
Warehousing criminals is not a deterrent, nor does it do anything but make all of society a constant victim of their crimes as they pay a hundred thousand dollars a year to house them.
