NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — More than a hundred people have been arrested in the Bronx in what authorities are calling the largest gang takedown in New York City history.
Authorities are expected to announce charges Wednesday against 120 alleged members and associates of two rival street gangs.

If they did this in Baltimore they could probably net 10,000. Of course given that it is cheaper to house, feed and clothe them in situ versus prison maybe it’s better to let them be. If they just shot them on the other hand...
Most will be out on bail by this afternoon.

I’m guessing, but a lot of times these gang round ups are initiated by federal task forces...they may work with the locals, but its their show. The mayor may not have had much to do with it.
BTW, they did something similar in my little ole town (Topeka, KS) a few years ago. Rounded up 80 people - pro-rated for population, a lot bigger sweep than what they just did in NYC. Sadly, it made zero impact on the local crime rate.
And, how many were in the country illegally? [Crickets]
Why can’t the Goobermint round up illegals the same way? [Crickets]
Would think the round-up, conviction and jail would just leave a void in and others would step in. Didn’t notice any MS13 members mentioned.

I remember back in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s when my son’s high school football team played against the Topeka high school team. Games were always played at our school in Overland Park because of some of the same issues. Seems like some things never change.
One estimate says as many as 22,000 gang members in NYC.

And a dozen will have Sharpton with them in front of a TV News camera tomorrow talking about how the Po Leese beat and abused them.
And all will be pardoned by Barky at the end of his term.
