I hope they get $15 per hour and have gender neutral bathrooms.

Not to pick nits, but “Plant”?? More like “small city”.

Apple brags of “record profits” and “hundreds of billions in cash”, but then claims they cannot manufacture things in the USA and must have cheap Chinese labor instead.

this is SOP for the electronics assembly industry, and is done at the behest of the client firms. they don’t want the trades to get pictures of prototypes. in fact they will add innocuous features that identify the date and place of manufacture of a prototype so as to be able to track down breaches, should a picture of the prototype appear online.

It appears that they are about to see the fulfilling of the ages-old dictum "be careful what you mock."

I wonder what Apple is doing to make sure their product isn’t also manufactured in another plant they don’t know about.

In China if they do not meet their quota they are then assigned to the spare parts division. They become spare parts for other humans.

Inside view of workers heading into the secure areas at Pegatron, one of Apple's assembly contract companies. Keep in mind that it is FUD season in that tomorrow is the Apple Finas ancial Conference Call. . . the three weeks prior to the quarterly conference calls is always FUD season when the media pulls out all the stops on anti-Apple propaganda. The 2014 video from China Labor Watch, supposedly showing living conditions at an unnamed assembly plant dormitory, has been debunked numerous times. The dormitory has been shown to have actually been filmed at an unrelated industry plant making clothing. China Labor Watch is an organization headquartered not in Asia but in New York City that is more interested in raising funds. They have been caught faking many interviews presenting false translations of what is said in those interviews in supposed documentaries on Apple. — PING!

From there, they make their way in single file to the assembly line but not before undergoing facial recognition checks at security turnstiles to clock in.

Probably not a bad idea.
