I understand why our Lord in Heaven chose to flood the earth and save only a handful of people. This next time it won't be water that takes down man. Burn baby burn.
I think we may be unjustly disappointed, since for circa 1700 years we’ve been used to governments more or less joined at the hip with churches.
So when governments slide away from this arrangement, we think it’s doomsday. I’d like to suggest that it isn’t necessarily doomsday until churches grow cold in themselves as private affairs.
Another paradoxical problem with governments that are too religiose (I said religiose not religious) is that they will pursue wickedness with an evangelical zeal that isn’t seen in more pedestrian minded arrangements. “Gay marriage” should I say more?
Sometimes the sharp tools should be put away from the kids.
Evil was here all along, the only difference now is that is no longer bothers to hide and in fact society glorifies it.
But what society does is irrelevant to our salvation, we believers simply need to keep on doing what we have always done. Do our best to live our beliefs to the best of our ability.
We are also seeing evils different from the evils we were used to indulging.
It might be wise for us to learn what “hypocrite” means. And no we should not live to the “best of ‘our’ ability” but the best of what we can catch from the grace of God.
