Vanity-If delegates choose our Nominee then voters should darn well get to vote for the delegates.

Oh, Cleveland and Philly *will* be historical -- just not for what one might suspected.

I was 7 years old when the 1968 Democrat Convention was held in Chicago. My grandfather lived in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood, just down the street from the original Mayor Daley. We were visiting my Grandfather the night the riots broke out at the Convention. I remember my parents telling my sister and I to crouch down in the back seat of the car as they covered us up with a blanket as we left the city.

What we heard (and saw when we poked our heads up) was NOT good. The police, the rioter's, the fires, looting, etc.. I'll never forget it. In fact, there are still some parts of the near West Side of Chicago that were left as they were non 1968 as a "reminder."

I suspect riots will be the word of the day come July and August this year.

Rules, like facts are stubborn things. Did you know, primarys and choosing candidates by vote began in 1910. Before that, the party chose the candidate and the name appeared on the ballot in November. Those were the days when democrats debated republicans. And there was a difference between the two. I like the looks of the Constitution party these days, just sayin’.

So, basically, less than 2000 people in the entire country determine who our President is.

Yep. And, those "elected" people hire the savants who run the IRS, FBI, OSHA, EPA, BLM, etc., ad nauseum.

Welcome to life with caucuses. Don’t like it get your state’s version of the party to change it. Or move to a state that has real primaries. it’s funny how many people just recently bothered to find out how they’re state has been selecting delegates for longer than they’ve been alive.

We vote for our delegates.

We vote for our delegates too (PA). It's just that the majority of them don't have to follow our wishes, even on the first ballot.

Was part of my local but left due to same kind of chicanery, back stabbing, cheating, stacking decks that apparently is the GOP RNC modus operandi. Not whiny and not a clueless doormat for RNC. No longer consider myself Republican. I am fully awake now and see how things really are.

Have you published a playbook to get things changed in your state? Hmmmmmmmm. I would be interested in your advice.

Rush is on now, defending the system. He’s completely lost touch with the common people, and is now hard wired into the establishment.

Whoever thought that when the revolution came, he’d be totally clueless?

Don’t need to change things in my state. It works fine within the artificial stricture of party politics. My problem with our primaries is that he GOP hasn’t run a candidate that’s actually worth a #$%^ in the 21st century.

This seems a bit like saying “Don’t like the say the mafia works? Apply for a job as underboss and work for change within.” Boss Tweed would LOVE the way some of these states do things.

Of course the states are not doing these things. The PARTY is. The PARTY makes decisions on how THEY want to be represented at the convention. People sign up to join the PARTY. And most have been OK with (or not bothering to know anything about) these various selection methods their whole life, until suddenly there’s an election that’s still contested come the state conventions, and all of a sudden they’re all “wait what”. It’s not my fault, or the party’s fault for that matter, that these folks only just started paying attention two weeks ago. You joined a political party without bothering to find out how it works, and never bothered to get involved in how it works, and now are shocked to find out the party isn’t terribly interested in your opinion. In other news, rain is wet, dress accordingly.

Thanks. I’ll only go if I’m well enough to go. I’m so concerned about the country that my grandchildren are inheriting that it drives me crazy.

The GOP is a private organization. They can pull names from a hat if they want.
