The massive sunspot region now facing Earth, dubbed AR2529, has morphed into the shape of a heart.
The lovely image was obtained by Karzaman Ahmad of the Langkawi National Observatory in Malaysia who shared it with the world at SpaceWeather.com.

True to its form, the sunspot has proven to be a gentle giant so far, emitting few flares and only a couple weak coronal mass ejections. But such hearts can break, and what will follow is difficult to predict. It will spend about another week facing Earth.
