Women bitten by tiger at Omaha zoo enters plea, is fined $250

The Omaha woman bitten by a three-legged tiger at the city’s zoo will pay a $250 fine after pleading guilty to trespassing.

Jacqueline Eide, 33, entered the plea at a hearing Monday morning. As part of a plea deal worked out with prosecutors, two other counts – contributing to the delinquency of a child and criminal mischief – were dropped.

Eide's fingers on her left hand were injured when she sneaked into the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium about 4 a.m. Nov. 1 and tried to pet a tiger named Mai, prosecutors have said.

The 18-year-old Malayan tiger arrived at the zoo in 2003 and had her front left leg amputated after it was damaged in a poacher’s trap.

A boy who Omaha police say was with Eide at the zoo was ticketed on suspicion of trespassing.

On March 8, Eide pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct after she allegedly tried to bite an Omaha police officer in February. She was sentenced to 14 days in jail. A charge of possession of an open container of alcohol in public was dismissed by a prosecutor.

I didn’t realize there was a problem with poachers inside at the Omaha Zoo.

“tried to pet a tiger named Mai, prosecutors have said”

Why do I suspect alcohol and/or some other form of impairment was involved here?

She doesn't look like a beer drinker, so I think it's a case of "Hold my Cosmo and watch this!"

What was her and the “boy” out doing to start with at 4am? If not her son, that should be investigated.

she has hardly any eyebrows.

Why do some girls pull out their natural eyebrows, and then some girls paint on fake ones???

When your cable TV goes out, you become bored. When you become bored, you start drinking. When you start drinking, you go to the zoo at 4 AM. When you start drinking and go to the zoo at 4 AM, you get bit by a three legged tiger. Don’t get bit by a three legged tiger. Get Direct TV instead.

It shouldn't be a surprise. It appears that they have poor security. How do we know that this woman wasn't one, and had to concoct her story when she got injured going after the cat?
