I avoid fast food burgers except in near emergencies on the road, and famished. Even then I don't got for the giant sized one's.

Usually just a quarter pounder with cheese.

And never fries. Everyone knows the fries are at least as damaging to arteries as the burger itself...maybe more so.

Trans fat kills, as sure as the day is long.

Make your burgers at home from beef no more the 15% fat. Many fast food joints use 35-40% fat burgers and don't cook them long enough to render out much of it.

Home made burgers can be healthy.

We usually have burgers at home with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, sugarless pickles and no bun.

No fries, no chips, no sugar. Our burgers and steak are cooked rare. This keeps my Type 2 diebetic husband at a perfect blood sugar level.

Trans fats are terrible.
