The former DC Republican Party chairman Ron Phillips has told Britains Sky News that U.S. Republican frontrunner Donald Trump is almost Churchillian, claiming that not everyone in the establishment wing of the party is anti-Trump. He said: I think theres many of us who want to embrace Trump.
Speaking to Skys Jeremy Thompson, Mr. Phillips said: You know, Donald Trump is a first time candidate running for office and one of the things youre seeing thats a great occurrence in American politics in 2016 is that Americans are turning more towards the non-politicians. Somebody who isnt a professional speaker or a professional politician such as a governor or a U.S. senator. So theres a large vast reservoir of goodwill towards any candidate whos out for the first time trying to make a difference.
He went on: Ive said it many times before Donald Trumps more than a candidate, hes an actual movement. So there is going to be the ability for him to make a mis-step and be forgiven, and weve seen that time and time again.

Duplicate.
I was thinking more like Stalin, or Stalin-illian.
Churchillian?? Trump??
LMAO!!! Oh, please...
But, thanks for the laugh...
What, Trump is a chinchilla?
Where is the April Fools disclaimer?
Almost—he’s just lacking the vocabulary.
There are enough Republicans in DC to have an ex-chairman? Do the two DC Republicans take turns?
In other breaking news, the ex San Francisco GOP Chairman said that Trump is a meanie.
So I guess they cancel each other out.
Honestly Trumps would not be worthy enough to rinse out Chuchills chamber pot.
Why are Trump supporters so stinting in their praise?
“G-d - Like” is so much more appropriate, don’t you think?
Chruchillian? LMFAO!!! Trumpbart is going strong on April Fool’s day.
“American politics in 2016 is that Americans are turning more towards the non-politicians.”
Enslaved Americans should consider putting politicians in federal prison. CONgre$$ - current, former and 4 uniparty thieves running for president have plundered the republic, its citizens, its generations of Americans yet to be born.
Wonderful graphic!
Could you imagine Trump saying these words:
“The only guide to man is his conscience; the only shield to his memory is the rectitude and sincerity of his actions. It is very imprudent to walk through life without this shield, because we are so often mocked by the failure of our hopes and the upsetting of our calculations; but with this shield, however the fates may play, we march always in the ranks of honor.”
-Sir Winston Churchill
I don’t find it funny. In fact, I agree 100% and have said so here many times.
Cruz OTOH reminds me of one of those Fuller Brush Men, that would come to your door. I remember, I was like 5 years old.
He wears black suits that look like he bought them from Hong Kong Tailors. You know, you send them your measurements and they send you and unlined suit with two pairs of pants. He probably needs a “long” coat size, but gets “regular” length, so his butt hangs out.
Every thing about the guy makes me laugh.
He’s a joke, and everyone who knows him knows this.
He was high on my list at first, but I classify him now as another cheap freshman politician who will prostitute all of us for his own gain.
The man is not remotely qualified for the WH. He knows it, his family knows it, the evangelicals who came out for him know it, Romney et al know it.
if the transcript from the interview with the WaPo’s editorial staff doesn’t dispel any notion that Trump is anywhere in the ballpark with Churchill, nothing will. Any comparison between the two is laughable.
LOL. No I couldn’t.
The GOPe and “Conservative” talk radio would likely have tried to destroy Churchill as vehemently as they do Trump.
Trump isn’t a politician. They skewer Trump because his answers are not smooth and polished like all the lying, slithering politicians. All the politicians have sold us down river including Cruz with TPP and TPA. None of those smooth talking politically correct politicians can be trusted (Except Cotton). Trump doesn’t have all the “correct” answers because he isn’t a politician so we should stop expecting him to perform as one.
England’s pious church goers used to condemn Churchill for his plain spoken language, just like they do Trump.
