I am so very sorry you and your kitty are going thru this. I’ve had my share too. I will keep you and kitty in my prayers. For you to know when it is the right time and for kitty to RIP. rrrrrr/ (my cat just walked across keyboard).
Do what you know will be best for your kitty. She will be happier if she is suffering.

Cats in pain will sit hunched in a guarded, crouched position with their back curved higher than normal, their head lowered and front paws often folded under them.

Another sign of pain in cats are the eyes. Do they have dilated pupils and that faraway look to them?

Cats are masters at hiding pain, even acute and severe pain.

If you believe that Kefira is in pain then do the right thing for her.

I must agree with a lot of folks responding.
I kept my smooth fox terrier alive way to long as she was suffering from bladder cancer.

Keeping Nugget alive was, in my case, all about me.
A really good vet will come to your house to put your pet down.

So sorry for your pet.
I still miss Nugget so very much - 15 years later.

Loving our pets and letting them go is never easy. You and your beloved pet were lucky to have found each other. Tears and time do not heal that pain. But memories help.

Its time to say goodbye. I had to do it to my cat of 15 years. Its not right to let them suffer because you can’t let go. They can’t make the decision so you have to. So sorry.

We were there back in July with our dog of 15 years. We made the decision to put him down before he became uncomfortable. It was hard, but it was the right thing.

I know how hard it is when your beloved animals are ill. My thoughts are with you.

I am so very sorry.

Painful to hear, and perhaps unimaginable to request... but if your cat is suffering it will be time to let her go.

I had to similarly say goodbye to my cat of 19 years. Held my good friend as he went to sleep. As an adult male, it was the first time I’d cried (sobbed) in years. Divorce, financial failure, etc. didn’t hurt as much.

Prayers up to you and your family.

It is very difficult. We have a kitty, Brutus the Naughty.
Our last cat, Stuffy, just went off into the woods & died
there. Only way we knew was when the buzzards started
congregating back in the woods where she was. No way we
could get down there to her. She was very independent. -
Brutus refused the name “Lambchop”. The neighbor kids made
awful fun of her for that name. She finally settled on taking the name, Brutus. Later, Cattbutt was okay with her;
but I didn’t like it any better than I do “Brutus”. It has
been difficult. She is also very picky. So sorry about your
kitty. Cats are funny.

I am so sorry to hear this. We all seem to have kitties that we outlive.

I’ve lost two, but the Lord made sure that was another one available. A tiny kitten appeared behind my laundromat. I know Mittens and Miss Peach would approve.

My hubby an I have had 15 kittys now. I get the pain you are in. Unless you have a lot of money to prolong your kitty’s life, I would say let kiity go.

Animals sometimes stay alive for us.

God, it hurts so much, but if your cat is suffering, do what is best for the cat.

Life springs eternal. There are many kitties out there that need a home. If your kitty is in bad shape, get another who needs love and a home.

So sorry for you and your baby.

Hopefully it’s just some obstruction.

If not, maybe God will take him quickly...

I am so sorry. My screen’s all blurry too. Our pets are our world sometimes. But my belief is our pets go to heaven, too, so we get to see them for an eternity on down the road.

I will pray for you and for your beloved little cat.

Again, I am so sorry.

Cats love me like I am some kind of Pharaoh, I have always inherited strays, usually sick ones, spent the money at the vet to get them back to health, and then enjoyed many years with them.

At one point we had 5, but old age has taken all but one and she is a six toe about 8 years old that brings me a mouse or rat (Florida mice and rats are clean) almost every night when I am in town.

The wife still cant believe how she acts when I come home.

All cats bring something unique and they are all very special in their own way.

I deal with sickness and death of a cat by listening to my vet , who we have a 20 year relationship with.

We do what makes sense to avoid suffering and don’t do anything crazy. I had one cat that had cancer surgery and thrived for about 7 years, it all depends.

I have lost 4 cats in the last 3 years and didn’t have to put one of them down , they all passed away peacefully at home.

I know in NYC cats just don’t necessarily walk into your house like in FL., but listen to your vet , get a second opinion if you are not comfortable, and if the cat does pass, the good news is that there are lots out there available to adopt.

I’m not a vet, but it might be feline leukemia. I believe it can be treated.

Been there. It’s never easy and is a heartbreaking situation. I’m so sorry you are having to face this. How old is she?

When mine was about 15, she was semi diagnosed with either IBS or bowel cancer. She was too old and sick to endure the surgery to even get a biopsy. We had her on steroids and pain meds. She started to get better but after two weeks she crashed. Chemo would only have extended her suffering. We ended up having her put down as it was the most merciful option for her. It was traumatic for us but she went peacefully knowing she was much loved.

If yours is young, chemo could put her in remission and she could go on to live many more healthy years. She might be having pancreatitus and that certainly is treatable. I’ll be praying for her and for you as well.

I know the feeling and sadness...I am so sorry.
I am facing the same. My kitty has liver failue and is so thin though she eats more than my other kitties...and throws up every few days.

She is still acting like she isn’t sick otherwise so I am delaying.

Milk thistle was recommended. and she has been holding pretty steady since November. The day will come. I have been through grief already and am trying to cherish the time left and love her as long as it is merciful to her.

Some days it is impossible not to be distressed, though.
