My hubby an I have had 15 kittys now. I get the pain you are in. Unless you have a lot of money to prolong your kitty’s life, I would say let kiity go.
Animals sometimes stay alive for us.
God, it hurts so much, but if your cat is suffering, do what is best for the cat.
Life springs eternal. There are many kitties out there that need a home. If your kitty is in bad shape, get another who needs love and a home.
It’s never easy, do you trust the vet?
So sorry for you and your baby.
Hopefully it’s just some obstruction.
If not, maybe God will take him quickly...
I am so sorry. My screen’s all blurry too. Our pets are our world sometimes. But my belief is our pets go to heaven, too, so we get to see them for an eternity on down the road.

Cats love me like I am some kind of Pharaoh, I have always inherited strays, usually sick ones, spent the money at the vet to get them back to health, and then enjoyed many years with them.
At one point we had 5, but old age has taken all but one and she is a six toe about 8 years old that brings me a mouse or rat (Florida mice and rats are clean) almost every night when I am in town.
The wife still cant believe how she acts when I come home.
All cats bring something unique and they are all very special in their own way.
I deal with sickness and death of a cat by listening to my vet , who we have a 20 year relationship with.
We do what makes sense to avoid suffering and don’t do anything crazy. I had one cat that had cancer surgery and thrived for about 7 years, it all depends.
I have lost 4 cats in the last 3 years and didn’t have to put one of them down , they all passed away peacefully at home.
I know in NYC cats just don’t necessarily walk into your house like in FL., but listen to your vet , get a second opinion if you are not comfortable, and if the cat does pass, the good news is that there are lots out there available to adopt.
My cat had lung cancer and went though chemotherapy. It was much different that human chemo. They can’t depress the cat’s appetite because they just won’t eat and that is worse for them. So, they get very mild dosage. It was ok. The doc gave him some vitamins and stimulant to put him in a good mood also.
All the best to that kitten. I posted requests here twice for different cats and it has worked.
I’m not a vet, but it might be feline leukemia. I believe it can be treated.

Been there. It’s never easy and is a heartbreaking situation. I’m so sorry you are having to face this. How old is she?
When mine was about 15, she was semi diagnosed with either IBS or bowel cancer. She was too old and sick to endure the surgery to even get a biopsy. We had her on steroids and pain meds. She started to get better but after two weeks she crashed. Chemo would only have extended her suffering. We ended up having her put down as it was the most merciful option for her. It was traumatic for us but she went peacefully knowing she was much loved.
If yours is young, chemo could put her in remission and she could go on to live many more healthy years. She might be having pancreatitus and that certainly is treatable. I’ll be praying for her and for you as well.
I know the feeling and sadness...I am so sorry.
I am facing the same. My kitty has liver failue and is so thin though she eats more than my other kitties...and throws up every few days.
She is still acting like she isn’t sick otherwise so I am delaying.
Milk thistle was recommended. and she has been holding pretty steady since November. The day will come. I have been through grief already and am trying to cherish the time left and love her as long as it is merciful to her.
Some days it is impossible not to be distressed, though.
That’s a decision only you have to make...your vet should help you make that choice.
I’m so sorry. I’ve been through this many times with my diabetic cat.. She’d stop eating, sit in sphinx mode looking miserable, and she’d lose weight rapidly, almost right before my eyes.
There’s a stomach pill the vet can prescribe, believe it’s ranitidine. It’s small, but you break it into quarter pieces. It’s bitter and is tough to get down. They might also give an appetite stimulant, but I don’t like them unless absolutely necessary because my cat would become wired and couldn’t rest.
The main thing is to get calories into her somehow to reverse the weight loss...heavy cream is good...also boil chicken and mash together the broth with boiled rice. You can get syringes from the pharmacy, wrap kitty in a towel and squeeze small amounts into the side of her mouth, never straight in.
You can find info by looking up YouTube videos on how to feed a sick cat.
You’re in a tough situation.
Drinking lots of water is also a symptom of urinary tract infection. The immediate cure is doses of anti-biotic delivered via eye-dropper. (I’m not a vet doctor. Just relating what I’ve done.)
The key is to get the cat to eat. If a cat doesn’t eat, the cat’s entire system shuts down and the cat dies. Try feeding your cat raw meat - like chicken livers - and see if she eats. The other possibility is frying up bacon. Let it cool and feed her the bacon plus the grease. You can also try bits of sliced turkey.

I’m so sorry for you. I lost my favorite kitty a few months ago. I cried a lot. I paid one thousands dollars to rip off vets and they never identified the problem but wanted more money for more testing. Turds.
But she could not eat and was weak and suffering so we put her down. I miss her so.
My beloved 19-year-old tuxedo cat, Putzie, had to be put down last week, so I am right there with you still crying over the loss seeing his little face everywhere and looking for him to jump into my lap where he always resided.
He finally had a similar symptom (high white cell count) leading the vet to suspect leukemia but also wouldn’t eat in addition to his, chronic antibiotic resistant sinus infection so he couldn’t smell his food resulting in bloody snots all over the place despite antibiotic injections every 6 weeks...that and progressive late stage kidney failure.
So after 19 years and taking him in at least 3 times to be put down and having the vet show me that we could save him with quality of life with a new medication for thyroid or kidney diet or antibiotic injection his way past 9 lives were finally up. I sure loved having him every moment for all those extra years!
Maybe your vet can save your kitty one more time, too, but if not, I will be offering a prayer for you and your kitty.

you have built such a close bond with them.
Every cat we had to put down was a heart-wrenching, difficult
experience. We have had all of our cats cremated, and their
little cedar boxes are on display in the sun room with cards
of condolence from the vets and pictures of each cat.
We haven’t lost a cat for two years now, but we still miss
and mourn the truly wonderful and intelligent cats who live/
lived here with us, some for much longer than others.
We have four cats, two black short hairs and a big, shaggy
Maine Coon named Midnight, plus a tiny tortie tiger striped
kitty who is quite lovable.
God Bless you and Kefira (what a beautiful name), and may she
gain a surcease of pain, and if she must be put to sleep, may
she sleep comfortably in the Arms of God. All pets’ spirits go
to Heaven, where they return to the Creator. Let that be of
great comfort to you. Prayers up for your beloved Kefira.
