In the latest Google Earth database, that area is so
riddled with tomb-robbers' potholes, that it is a marvel that they were able to find anything there!
(Been trying to find a way to do a post [image or .KML/.KMZ file] directly from Google Earth to FR, but, so far, no luck.) Guess I could put the image in my own domain's webspace and hotlink to it from FR -- but that's a hassle if nobody's interested... Any Interest in seeing the looted tombs on OHI???
At any rate, I guess they could have looked between potholes, and have seen a likely depression or other evidence... (Not my idea of productive effort...)
Aaaahh, what the heck... Why have tools -- and not use them?
Note that the sun is from the south (from below). That sometimes causes the "inverted moon crater effect" for some folks -- making the holes look like mounds. One way to check/overcome this is to look at the cross-shaped object at upper left (a pair of "linear spoil dumps" from excavations around a pyramid just to the west). Make yourself see those ridges as elevated "berms", and the entire image should "pop" into correct perspective...
