Oh, my early favorite is actually Trump. But that is subject to change. This is like watching a pair of instant photos (remember the Polaroid cameras?) develop, and 30 seconds into the development saying which one is going to look the best when fully developed.
But anyhow, yes I do try to be less weird minded in the real world than I am here. That’s one reason why I like places like FR and Facebook. You can be weird and it really doesn’t destroy anything.
Poor you! All that intelligence in a stupid world. I had a friend like you. Generally he said these things while high on drugs.
Der Ornery Nut Adolph Leuden Dipsticken Drumpf!
I didn’t claim “intelligence in a stupid world.”
I claimed a spiritual perception.
If you don’t know what you’re talking about, you should watch your own discourse.
Dig out some Christian history sometime and actually READ it. You’ll find my accounts are actually rather mild.
However, most of those folks were at least smart enough to only talk about it in church contexts, where there was a hope that the audience would understand. There is the pearls before swine factor, after all.
Look up, for example, John Bunyan. And his work Pilgrim’s Progress. And the weird things he went through including being locked in a tower for what the church at the time called a mad faith.
The world thought he was weird.
Christians who actually display significant spiritual capabilities are thought weird. It shows how bad the normalcy bias is in religion and why religion can’t ever be the cure for the common sinful America.
You want to lose the Turks. That’s understandable to the world.
I want to gain Christ. That puts me right smack in weird category.
If this be weirdness, let me make the most of it. The down and out tend to appreciate the weird.
Try to remember that you are on an anonymous forum and no one knows anything about anyone. I don’t know if you’re a saint or a devil. In the end, I really don’t care. I’m only trying to get the best candidate in office.
I read Milton and the greats of English literature at nighttime, so don’t preach to me.
Let’s make this the last post of the day to each other, ok?
Well clearly we are looking at things from different levels.
You have a pride in your grasp of English literature.
I count Christ above all else. I really do see Him more and more (I often fail!) as the name above every name. Including the name of “English literature great.”
I’m a devil being turned into a saint, kicking and screaming all the way!
But I will be courteous to you and let you go. I just don’t know how to bridge such a divide. God does, and may eventually show me. Maybe even some of the things I said may dawn on you later. And I certainly want to say now, God bless you, from the bottom of my heart. Because God’s middle name is not Damn. And if God had to have a middle name, it would be something more like Bless.
Often, statements of one’s clarity gained by their devotion to Christ are dismissed as “being holier than thou”, as they tend to make the listener reflect inward, and they don’t like the truth that they must acknowledge about themselves; it is akin to breaking a mirror because one does not like what they see. I lay no claim to holiness, as i will always be a work in progress, but can recognize and admire truths that can be referenced biblically.
Actually they are pointing out that Universal Franchise is a mistake.
He looks a lot like Bill Murray. Who, admittedly, is not one of Hollywood’s most attractive celebrities.
