If you have Chrome as the default browser on your Windows 10 computer, you'd better check to make sure Microsoft didn't hijack it last week and set Edge as your new default. The same goes for any PDF viewer: A forced cumulative update also reset PDF viewing to Edge on many PCs.
Do you use IrfanView, Acdsee, Photoshop Express, or Elements? The default photo app may have been reset to -- you guessed it -- the Windows Photos app. Music? Video? Microsoft may have swooped down and changed you over to Microsoft Party apps, all in the course of last week's forced cumulative update KB 3135173 .

I will not install an operating system that has a Key Logger. Period.
There are numerous reports of this update failing to install, entirely. My Window 10 test machine is one of them - it has failed to complete this update 6 times so far.
No but there are Linux equivalents that work in similar fashions and they can read your saved files with no problems. You can do a web search about such things, starting with the LibreOffice and OpenOffice suites to get you started.
Many DeskTop Publishing (DTP) programs in Linux as well. Have fun! :)
*laugh* I already run Linux, mate. Several versions as a matter of fact. Debian-based, however, not RedHat-based is what I prefer.
Rotten bastards. I have win10 on one throwaway ancient laptop. I will not install on any of my important machines, just based on this type of nonsense alone. So irritated by their tin-eared decisions for years.
Just a personal opinion (albeit shared by many) but IE is not a recommended choice.

No, but Open Office and LibreOffice are available. There are some of these open source programs that can read and write MS compatible file formats.
My son updated to Windows 10 and was not able to make it work with some software programs. Fortunately, he was able to uninstall Windows 10 and go back to what he had, which had worked perfectly.
I have a working Windows system and have ignored all of the offers to update to Windows 10. Had a forced Windows 10 update changed some of the programs I use on a daily basis to Microsoft programs I’ve never heard of before, I would be spitting mad. No Windows 10 for me, thank you all the same.

I use Chrome Browser and the update made absolutely NO CHANGE to default browser (still Chrome) nor any changes to IrfanView.
There’s a LOT of WIN10 mis-information being disseminated.
You must comply. Or shortly. Eventually they say you will not be able to refuse updates.
On one of my older computers it killed Firefox altogether

You can change those auto updates in certain versions of 10, and I think there are other workarounds for those stuck with these force fed auto update.
Microsoft will not be making many friends with this little change.
