Microsoft will remove Managed Accounts from the standalone Skype communications application from March 30 this year and replace them with standard personal accounts.
Skype Managed Accounts is a feature that allows a central administrator to create and maintain accounts for the program. It is aimed at business users, and part of the web-based Skype Manager administration utility.
But Managed Accounts will soon be transitioned into standard personal Skype accounts, subject to Microsoft's consumer terms of use, the company said. Allocated Skype credits, subscriptions and numbers will be moved to the personal accounts.
Administrators will need to ensure that a valid email address exists for Managed Account users in their profiles for password resets. After Managed Accounts have become personal accounts, administrators can no longer delete them or reset their passwords.

Microsoft really screwed up Skype. “Skype for Business” is a bloated hog.
Is this the same thing as Lync?
I wish MSFT would spin off Skype so that it would become useful to me again. When MSFT acquired Skype the quality deteriorated immediately. I can no longer use it to talk to my friends in Việt Nam. It used to be clear and had good video transmission. Within a month of the transition the video got bad or nonexistent and the the sound is bad, like speaking in an iron pipe if connection can be made at all. It worked for awhile paying for connection to non Skype phones but the accounting kept getting screwed up and the likelihood of connection declined. I am back to calling using calling cards.
Have you tried Gtalk?
