Most of the long haul truck traffic takes I-80, even if Eastern Colorado is the destination. Much easier road.

It will be difficult in the middle of winter too. Glad I don’t have to drive that stretch often.

Nope. Many truckers take I-80 through Wyoming then I-25 south into Colorado. Better route.

The wife and I drove through I-70 about ten years ago. About fifty miles west of Denver we were held up for an hour by a delay which was not explained to us. That night we stayed in Fort Collins and read the news in the morning.

The delay was caused by a boulder that rolled onto I-70, landed on a car, and killed the driver. We haven't driven I-70 since despite having taken numerous trips out west.
