It just costs money for a damned outsider to try to gum up the Republican Political Class---McConnell, Ryan, Cruz. Heidi needs to get back to work at Goldman Sachs. There's promises to keep, influence to sell.

All Cruz would sit there and do is lie anyway, just like he lied in the debate implying he never supported Roberts, even though he was pumping for Roberts like crazy even before he got into the senate, calling him one of the "best ever" litigators, "second to none" and a true conservative "like the President who nominated him."

If the GOP screws Trump out of the nomination through a brokered convention I’ll write him in.

Trump has stated he is pro-2nd amendment and for gun ownership so many times in the public eye it did make me wonder why Cruz would say such a thing. Surely he had to know Trump's position on this. If not, that's a huge oversight.

Cruz is absolutely right. Trump will NOT invest the political capital to confirm a conservative justice. He will “cut a deal” and put up a “consensus candidate” that will easily get votes from Democrats, so that he can “have a win” and we’ll have our next Souter. There is absolutely no way to trust that Trump cares about life, marriage, assault weapons bans, etc. It’s easy to sniff out a true conservative and one who is just saying what he needs to to be elected.
