UMass/Lowell NH Daily Tracking 2/7 - Trump 34 - Rubio 13 - Cruz 13 - Jeb 10

Donald Trump has led by double digits in every day of our tracking poll; in the last day, he tracked downward two points, but his nearest rival, Sen. Marco Rubio, also tracked down one. Trump leads with 34%, followed by Rubio and Sen. Ted Cruz, who are both at 13%. Gov. Jeb Bush is at 10% (no change), Gov. John Kasich is at 10% (up 1%), Gov. Chris Christie is at 5% (no change), Carly Fiorina is at 4% (no change) and Dr. Ben Carson is at 3% (no change). Little has changed over the course of the race and while New Hampshire voters are notorious for deciding at the last minute, it would take an incredible surge by a candidate to unseat Trump. At present, this appears to be a very competitive race for second place between Cruz, Rubio, Bush and Kasich.

Trump continues to be dominant. Cabana Boy beginning to sink and tied with Cruz. Yeb lurking at 10 with Kasich right behind him. Some very interesting scenarios buried in the internals regarding weather and turnout, all favorable to Trump. Trump's support is the most intense as usual. Looks to be a very interesting race for 2nd which will jumble things for South Carolina.

Surprising Christie didn’t get a little bigger bump. He was quite masterful at taking down the little open borders, pretty faced Rubio - the Republican John Edwards.

Not enough time to factor that in. One night of polling data reflecting debate. Christie won’t break double digits but he wounded Rubio so all good.

Go Trump

These Polls are all over the place for 2-6

Most have Kasich, Christy then Bush and Rubio fighting out for 4th.

And finally SNL new target Cruz.

SNL is going to define Cruz to the general electorate, just like I predicted.

And the image is not going to be favorable.

I hope the poll is accurate. It would be nice to see Trump get a really lopsided victory, which would really help him in SC and NV. I’m not getting my hopes up too high.

And finally SNL new target Cruz

If SNL laughs with a person, it's a positive. If they laugh at a person, it can create a forever negative impression. FWIW, those SNL writers were devastating to Cruz, they got right to the yucky campaign tactics. It may not chase away Cruz's current supporters, but it will make it much more difficult for him to get new ones.

I still can’t believe that 10% might be tossing their vote down the sinkhole for Jebbie Bush. Would love for him to stay in single numbers.

BTW... did you see Bernie saying, “YUGE!” several times on the show? At least 3 times repeated.

The latest argument is that Trump only does well in the polls due to name recognition, and that in real voting his numbers weill be a lot lower.

Well, I don’t think IA shows that. It shows that he turned out 38,000 votes, which I think was way higher than Huckabee or Santorum (could be wrong), but also that he left another 4,000 on the table because of his inefficient ground game. A primary won’t have the latter. And Cruz is sinking like a stone, so . . . we’ll see

True, both Trump and Cruz received far more votes than the winners did in the last elections. In 2012, Santorum got less than 30,000 votes.

With regard to Iowa, it is what it is. Strange state and hard to figure out. Still, I think Trump came out of that state very strongly - only a few percentage points from winning outright and a virtual tie in delegates with Cruz and Rubio. None of those three candidates have anything to be ashamed off and they have definitely separated themselves from the back.

If Trump wins NH by double digits tomorrow, he'll be in the driver's seat.

Soros advisor gave $200k to boost Kasich

A close associate of far-left activist billionaire George Soros gave a super PAC supporting Ohio Gov. John Kasich $200,000, the third largest contribution made to the Kasich presidential effort as of the end of 2015.

Soros, who has given $7 million to a PAC backing Hillary Clinton this election cycle, is a huge backer of all things liberal. This election, Soros has made clear his opposition to the GOP front-runners, saying: We must reaffirm our commitment to the principles of open society and resist the siren song of the likes of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, however hard that may be.

Kasich is poised to halt the momentum of either Trump or Cruz should he have a strong showing in New Hampshire. The latest RealClearPolitics polling average puts Kasich tied for third with Sen. Marco Rubio in the Granite State at 10.7 percent, just a point behind Cruz.

The Kasich super PAC New Day For America received the $200,000 in the form of two separate contributions from Scott Bessent, then-chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management LLC, Federal Election Commission data analysed by the Center for Responsive Politics show. He also made the largest personal donation allowed by law directly to the Kasich campaign, $2,700.
