Test drove one once and really liked the high head room. But it was pricier than either a Nissan Versa or Honda Fit, which I eventually bought with similar headroom.

Not only did these competitive models do more in terms of seat configuration, but the Scion dealer didn't think I was a serious buyer because I didn't fit the millennial profile and treated me accordingly.

Don’t you hate that? I went to a Mazda dealer in Dallas once and must not have looked the part. He wouldn’t even tell my what he’d give me for my trade-in unless I signed a contract to buy. When I objected, he said the only reason I came in was to get an estimate on what my car was worth. The salesmen snickered at me as I left. I drove a couple of miles down the street to the Mercury dealer and bought a Bobcat. A few months later, I bought another Bobcat for my wife. Eat it, Mazda.
