Cruz is not going to win the nomination because it's personal now with Trump [vanity]

Posted on 02/03/2016 10:09:40 AM PST by springwater13

The bad blood between Cruz and Trump is now personal. Trump will take it to Cruz like he took it to Bush. Scorched Earth warfare. If he loses, so be it at least Cruz won't win.

I don't see a situation now where Cruz can consolidate Trump support if he falters. If Trump starts bleeding, his supporters will go to Rubio or step away from the political process and not support Cruz. I don't think people understand how Ted's televangelist routine grates on less religious voters that make up the bulk of Trump's coalition. People around my office were talking about his victory speech Tuesday morning and largely were horrified.

The only one attacking personally is Trump.

Cruz is politically disadvantaged with hispanics because, unlike Rubio,he does not speak Spanish. But Donald says that is okay because he does speak Canadian.

Trump is a certified loser in a state he was supposed to win. “Very, Very, big lead”

Wasn’t Cruz going to lose Iowa because he ticked off trump?

So you prefer Hillary.

That's good to know.

Televangelist routine? Did they not hear Rubio, or was he just pandering to Iowans?

Ohhhhhhh, and it wasn't before?

Sorry, but with Trump everything is personal!

To "Narcissists," everything is about them and thus its personal!

In an anti-establishment election... this is a good thing?!

If Trump starts bleeding, his supporters will go to Rubio or step away from the political process and not support Cruz.

See comment above... REALLY?!

I'm tired of the scorched Earth approach to this election. Is it any wonder conservatives don't win elections? We eat our own.

Now? Trump’s been personally attacking him for weeks as opposed to doing it re his stances on issues.

I don’t think Cruz has broad enough appeal to win the nomination or the general election. I also doubt his willingness and ability to handle the media storm that would be directed at him as the nominee or the Clinton/DNC machine.

Naw.

This is all just wrestling hype. Remember the Donald’s performances in WWF events.

All soon forgotten.

It has not been a pretty 24 hours for Trump, Cruz should ignore him because Trump is finally having the meltdown that people were predicting.

Exactly. If the Orange One does not win NH, his next day tweets will doom the liberal's candidacy once and for all.

Cruz is taking it to Rubio as he will not be dropping out as DT will when Rubio comes within an inch of his lunch in NH.

I wish you Trump people would open your eyes and sight in on Marco! Your leader clearly doesn’t plan to!

Truth will win. Only one of them is an adult with principles who has fought the conservative battle his entire life. The other is a petty little man showing how unstable he is for all to see today.

I disagree. I’m glad trump bashes him. I’m glad the media attacks him. By the time he wins the primaries there will be no surprises and he will be battle tested.

Trump’s use of liberal democrat tactics is a wonderful thing. When Hillary or Bernie try it people will laugh and point at trump’s failure.

Cruz is of different character than Bush, he’ll be able to keep up with Trump on personal belittlement and probably be merciless in doing so.

Trump however can pound and pound on Cruz on issues such as NBC, Flip flops in the Senate, likability, and unreported loans from Goldman Sachs.

Trump and Cruz may just take each other out and oops, there goes Rubio.

Then, on top of that Trump may make the case for a 3rd party run. On the ballots in key states and as a write in on others.

I’m voting Trump — write in if necessary.
